Vietnam has aggressive goals for economic growth and development. To help meet these goals, Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Trương Vĩnh Trọng is leading a high-level delegation of Vietnamese officials and business leaders to meet with California organizations interested in business opportunities with Vietnam at the MEET VIETNAM Investment Forum on Monday, November 16, 2009. Delegates include high ranking officials from the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Ministry of Information and Communications, senior officials from CanTho, DaNang and Ho Chi Minh City and representatives from the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Vietnam Software Association.
Vietnam plans to expand investment, trade and cooperation with California companies in information technology, software, green tech, education and a host of other areas. The California-Asia Business Council is partnering with the Government of Vietnam to identify businesses with the interest and potential to establish commercial relationships with Vietnamese partners.
Objective
This Forum is designed to give California companies the opportunity to network with and learn from Vietnamese officials directly responsible for the development of Vietnam's economy and growing international business cooperation, and to meet privately with potential Vietnamese business partners.
The Relationship Begins in San Francisco
Deputy Prime Minister Trương and his delegation want to show their sincere interest in forging greater business ties with the U.S. by taking this first step in building a relationship. They are coming to meet you and to showcase Vietnam as a country prepared to engage in serious business dialogue. They want to answer your questions and address your concerns about doing business with Vietnam. The all-day forum will take place at the InterContinental Hotel in San Francisco.
High-Impact Format to Maximize Results
To meet the objective of making this Forum informative, interactive and of strategic value, the agenda will include breakout sessions organized by Vietnamese city and topic. The topics were developed based on the business objectives of these cities and a survey of California companies. These sessions will provide you with the opportunity to meet Vietnamese officials relevant to your business interest and tap their insights regarding your business idea. This type of interaction is rare and a great opportunity to get a head start on Vietnam business planning. Private meetings with members of the business delegation can be scheduled from your registration confirmation email.
Special Focus
The Forum will also include a special focus on IT in the form of a panel discussion. U.S. businesses active in Vietnam, U.S. experts and officials from the Vietnam Ministry of Information and Communications will discuss experiences and opportunities investing in Vietnam's IT industry.
