Michael Scown is the Asia Regional Counsel for Intel Capital, responsible for providing legal support to and sharing overall management responsibility for Intel's Strategic Investment and M& A programs in Asia. Michael joined Intel in 1999 and is based in Hong Kong.

Intel Capital invests to drive the growth of the Internet Economy and an increasingly connected computing world. Intel Capital's investments in the Asia Pacific area are aimed primarily to grow the Internet through delivery of high-performance products, services and infrastructure. Michael has helped Intel Invest more than US$500 million in over 100 companies in Greater China (Taiwan, the PRC, Hong Kong), India, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia in early-stage start-ups to late-stage and public companies, including representing Intel in it's investments in PCCW, AsiaInfo Holdings, Inc., UT Starcom, Inc. and Intel's onshore investments in China.

Prior to joining Intel, Michael worked as Assistant Regional Counsel for Marriott International in Hong Kong, as a partner in the San Francisco and Vietnam offices of the law firm Russin & Vecchi and served as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State. He is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley (A.B.) and the University of San Francisco School of Law (J.D.) and a member of the California Bar.

Michael has spoken and written widely on international legal issues. His articles have appeared in The Asian Wall Street Journal, The San Francisco Chronicle, the Far Eastern Economic Review, and numerous legal publications.
